Buying and selling of goods constitute the bulk of commercial transactions in the world. The study of the law that governs Contract of Sale in Nigeria is thus critical because it provides the legal framework for such contracts and agreements between sellers and buyers. For this reason, a critical book review of Olusegun Yerokun’s Uniform Sale of Goods Law was attempted using the doctrinal method. The book provides a good understanding of the Uniform Sale of Goods Law and the need for Nigeria to expedite efforts towards localising the English Sale of Goods Act 1893 as one of the Received English Statutes of General Application 1900. The focus of the book is to question the status quo practice of teaching students with the English Act and its application in courts despite the existence of the Federal Uniform Model Law on Sale of goods which has been adopted to a certain degree by most States across the Federation. The 26 Chapters and 604 pages’ book covers all the aspects of contract of sale, including E-Commerce and International Sales, which is novel. The reviewer’s view that the book will re-awake and educate students, governments, and legislators on the need for uniformity of Sale of Goods Law. Without uniformity of the various States Law on Sale of Goods, the reviewer believes that teaching students with different states law is bound to create confusion and lack of appreciation of the law.

INTRODUCTION
Prof. Olusegun Yerokun’s twenty-four chapters textbook on Uniform Sale of Goods Law in Nigeria is an effort by the author to provide academia and the general public with a comprehensive book on the sale of goods law in Nigeria. Focused exclusively on the efforts made by the Nigerian Law Reform Commission in coming up with the Uniform Model Law of Sale of Goods in Nigeria in 1987 to be adopted by various states, it is a book that has re-awaken and keeps alive the need for Nigeria to formulate and reform the law of Sale of Goods that is Nigerian in nature. The English Law on Sale of Goods Act 1893 was received into the Nigerian Legal System as a pre-1900 English Law, which formed part of the 1900 Statutes of General Application.₁ The Act is still today being used in Nigerian Universities for teaching Commercial Law.
